Bridesmaid: Cathie Hong

Cathie is my soulsister. However, to explain this, I must let it be known that when I first met her, I immediately decided in my head "I will never be her friend". I saw her as the ice queen who only spoke to and hung out with a select group of friends..."the elite". The first time I had to spend a prolonged period of time with her, turned out to be a 8 hour car drive from San Diego up to San Jose---just me and her. We spoke about some superficial things for the first few hours, but the nagging feeling inside of me made it necessary for me to clear the air. I told her that I never thought I could be friends with her and I admitted my own judgmental thoughts about her clique-ness. Long story short, that car-ride blossomed into a wonderful friendship. I learned that we both had a love for the Gospel and sharing that with those who did not know Christ, random-lazy afternoons hanging out, deep meaningful conversations where I simply felt like I did not need to say much and she understood exactly where I was coming from. The first of my friends to get married, she provides a stepping-stone of wisdom and encouragement as I enter married life & motherhood!
